Serie A: Damiani backs Conte to help Osimhen shine at Napoli

Former Italy international, Oscar Damiani has backed Antonio Conte to get the best out of Victor Osimhen if the Nigerian’s departure from the Partenopei does not materialise this summer.

Osimhen was expected to leave the former Serie A champions this summer.

The Nigeria international’s €130m release clause has however scared away suitors.

Ligue 1 champions, Paris Saint-Germain recently pulled out of discussion to sign the striker due to the huge release clause.

Osimhen could now remain at Napoli for the 2024/25 season.

Damiani believed that Conte is the right man to help improve his game.

“The negotiation between Osimhen, Napoli and PSG is a difficult one that requires a significant amount of money, even for PSG, who have an ownership that allows certain investments to be made,” he said, reported via TMW.

“If he stays at Napoli, Conte will know how to give him the right sort of motivation.

“Napoli is a great club and will fight with the greatest ambition,” Damiani continued.
