Smash Afrika to replace Lawrence Maleka as ‘Big Brother Mzansi’ host

Smash Afrika, whose real name is Afrika Mdutyulwa, has officially been named the new host of Big Brother Mzansi for its highly anticipated fifth season.

The announcement signals a new chapter for the popular reality show following Lawrence Maleka’s remarkable three-season tenure as host.

Smash Afrika is poised to take the reins, leading viewers through the unpredictable twists, drama, and excitement that have become hallmarks of Big Brother Mzansi.

Sharing his enthusiasm for the role, Smash Afrika reflected on his journey:

“I’m beyond grateful and speechless because this opportunity was always meant to be. Looking back at my journey in radio and TV, it feels like everything I have done has been leading to this moment. I may not have shouted it from the rooftops or had it on a vision board, but deep down I knew something big was coming.”

The former Massive Music presenter also shared his vision for the role, promising to bring positivity and energy to the show.

“I’m hyped for the experience ahead and can’t wait to bring that energy to the audience at home and to the housemates whenever I can. I want to make sure everyone walks away feeling something good. The feel-good host is here, baby. Let’s get it.”

Big Brother Mzansi Season 5 is set to kick off in early 2025, with auditions held from September to October.

Fans can expect a fresh crop of housemates, surprises, and the thrilling moments that make the show a fan favorite.
